The Story
Where would you normally use an intermediate stainless steel post?
To structurally support a wire cable balustrade on a deck or balcony.
On a wire balustrade, you need to have a support post approximately every 1.5 metres (when using 3.2mm wire cable).
The minimalist look of the intermediate post allows you to space your major posts every 3 metres, with the intermediate post going in between.
What handrail can be used with this post?
In most cases, the minimum height for a wire balustrade is 1 metre (1000mm) in height (measured from the deck to the top of handrail). The post is supplied slightly over size, but can be trimmed back to 960mm, so that when used with a round handrail over 40mm in diameter, the 1 metre requirement can be achieved.
Does it come pre-drilled?
Yes. There are 11 pre-drilled holes, spaced 80mm apart to conform to wire balustrade regulations (once trimmed back to 960mm).
What is it made out of?
316 Stainless Steel in a Mirror Finish.
How should you fasten it to the ground/deck?
Due to the wide range of potential surfaces, we do not supply fasteners.
We recommend speaking to your local hardware store or builder for advice on suitable fixings.
